  Luxury house ideally sited for Golf/fishing/walking and Scuba diving
  A modern built house yet full of character beautifully furnished and equipped to a very high standard,sited on the Mayo/Galway border. 3 minute walk to the village of Leenane with 2 restaurents, 2 bars and a grill bar. 20 minute drive to several beaches. Galway city is 1 hour drive away and Westport is 25 minutes drive. Clifden the cultural centre of Connermara is 30 minutes drive. There are numerous golf courses within easy driving distance and these can be found on the Golf Today Guide on the web. There is Scuba diving at the nearby Scuba Dive West and Fly fishing and sea fishing are both availabe. Bicycles can be hired in the village.Access to the Western Way is close at hand for walkers and hill climbing is available at the local adventure centre.

  There are numerous golf courses within easy drive of the property - Connermara Golf Club (Ballyconneelly) 1 hour ; Westport 30mins; Oughterard 30 mins;Galway 1 hour;Glenlo Abbey 40mins;Ashford Castle(Cong)45mins;Castlebar 45mins;Ballinrobe 45mins. many more can be located by looking up the Golf Today Guide Ireland.

Bedroom 4 double. House bathroom. Cloakroom with wc and wash basin.
General: A modern , well equipped house with panoramic sea views set on an elevated site. Oil central heating and all mod coms.Very comfortable. Parking for 6 cars
Living Room: A very comfortable room furnished with antiques and seatingf 8 comfortably. Sky TV , video and DVDplayer. Full Library of DVd`s and films . Books Stereo sound system. Piano. Panoramic views over Killary Harbour and double doors to front terrace and garden overlooking the sea.Family room running from kitchen dining area furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, has panoramic views . Sky tv and dvd player.
Dining: There is a dining table in the sitting room which when extended will seat 8 and a more practicle dining table in the kitchen/ diner which seats 8 comfortably. Again with panoramic sea views when dining. There is a breakfast table in the kitchen which seats 6.
Entertainment: There are two pubs in the village both traditional Irish pubs. Two good restaurants in walking distance plus a grillbar and the local Hotel has a good bar and serves food.Within 10 minutes drive ther are two more pubs which offer Irish music one serves food. There are several very fine eating places within a short drive of the house. All these are listed in the `Things to Do Brochure` in the house. Sea fishing
fly fishing, bicycle hire , walking canoeing, hill climbing and obviously golfing are all very do-able from the house.
Kitchen: The kitchen has an Aga , toaster; electric kettle; electric mixer; breadmaker; microwave;dishwasher;large capacity fridge with smaller size freezer; food processor. Solid wood floors

Terraces: There is a small terrace to the side of the house equipped table and chairs and garden bench. This is a sun trap and takes the sun most of the day.Asmall stream and waterfall runs down the sideof this terrace. Sea views to the fron of this terrace.
Front Terrace this is accessed by both the sitting room and family room' and leads on to a lawned area with panoramic views over Killary Harbour. This takes the sun from approx midday to late evening. There is a table and chairs on this terrace and more are stored (plus loungers ) in the out house. Cushions are kept in the boot room off the utility.

Parking: There is parking for approx 6 cars at the house . There is a car park to the side of the house and a back drive behind the house
 
 
  Outside  
 
  Terraced gardens to the front, lawned and planted with shrubs and bushes. Car park to the side and rear Terrace to the front and side . All garden furniture is supplied with cushions and sun shades. Hammock and garden benches.Sweeping drive to road. The drive has a steep gradient.
 
 
  Information  
 
Area: Leenane is a place of natural beauty. Placed at the head of the only fjiord in Ireland It is surrounded by mountain ranges and is within 10 minutes drive of the twelve Bens of Connermara. There are freshwater lakes and lochs in abundance.
Leenane stand on the doorstep of the Connermara national park.

Local Information: Leenane is a small village with a population of about 100. It relies mainly on tourism now but there are still working farms in the area. There is a pleasant mix of locals and holiday home owners and all mix well together. There are two churches (RC and Cof I) and a local clinic and library
Coast/Beach: There are several panoramic beaches with easy driving distance of the house (20 minutes to 45 minutes) there is great choice and all are sparsley populated because of their abundance and size. With golden sands and aquamarine rollers they are ideal for swimming, windsurfing or just picnicing. Details of beaches in the "Things to Do" left in the house
Attractions: The Twelve Bens 10 minutes drive away . Victorian Gardens and Kylemore Abbey 20 minutes drive. Westport House 25 minutes drive; Ashford Castle at Cong 45 minutes drive; Galway City 1 hour drive; Sea cruises up the Fjiord to see the dolphins . Croagh Patrick where St. Patrick was reputed to cast out the snakes from Ireland 30 mins drive. Fantastic scenery and views round every corner!
Activities: Golf; sea fishing; fly fishing; hill walking ;bicycle hire;windsurfing; Scuba diving (Scuba Dive West web site) There are two adventure centres within ten minutes drive, daily membership is available.
Shopping: There are 2 village shops 3 minutes walk from the house. Westport is 30 minutes drive away with supermarket shopping and many local and interesting speciality shops.Castlebar is 45 minutes drive a bigger town offering supermarkets department stores and many diverse smaller shops. Clifden is 30 minutes drive offering supermarket and many individual shops and restaurants. The city of Galway is one hour drive away offering all the usual shopping facilities of a cosmopolitan city
Travel: Leenane is situated on the west coast of Ireland and a car is essential as public transport is limited. It would be advisable to hire cars at the time of booking flights; Ferry ports are more or less of similar distance and times for travel from Dublin /Dun Loaghaire, Larne in the north and Rosslaire or Cork in the south would be roughly 4 to 5hours depending on time of day and traffic,

  Suitability  
 
Suitability: The site of the house is elevated and we would not advise it as being suitable for young children as there are severe drops from terraces.
Restrictions: Sorry no pets! Guide dogs welcome.

Balance due 4 weeks before vacation.
Refundable Security deposit of £200 required
