Golf Information

La Cala has three championship standard courses with fairways of Bermunda grass, Pencross grass greens and bunkers of crushed marble, cleverly designed by American Cabell B Robinson. La Cala North (Par 73)- a very hilly and spectacular course often with great height differences between tee and green, has been designed to use the natural features of the terrain to challenging effect A long drive is a distinct advantage and straight hitting is a must to avoid the deep gorges lining the fairways. La Cala South (Par 72) - slightly less hilly than the North Course, where accuracy is rewarded rather than the long drive. The new Europa Course (Par 71) includes a river affecting several holes and is to the same high standard and began play in spring 2005.

A new spa facility opened in April 2006. Los Altos is a small development of 60 spacious luxury apartments built in five individual buildings around a large landscaped pool with panoramic views over the resort and the Sierra de Mijas.
	Local Information: Costa del Sol, also known as 'Costa del Golf' with dozens of excellent courses both along the coast and in the mountains. Near the popular local resorts of Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Mijas, all of which are within half an hour's drive. Further afield, the apartment is an ideal base for touring Andalucia and visiting the towns and cities of Granada, Cordoba, Ronda, Nerja and Seville. For those with energy to spare, the well known ski resort of Sierra Nevada is only a 2-3 hours drive away, making half a day's skiing easily feasible within a day trip. The snowy slopes can be seen from the apartment on a fine winter day!
